Advertising Theory
Today I learnt how companies advertise their products to persuade customers to buy them by the use of slogans as they make them effective and catchy. We were given a sheet of paper with different slogans and we had to guess what company it is from. Also we had to write the meaning of the slogan and how it persuades us to buy their product.
Examples:
This tells you that it does not matter how much it costs, you should treat yourself because you are "worth it" and you will not regret it.
McDonald's- I'm loving it
They are telling you that they love it so you should too.
KFC- Finger lickn' good
This is telling you that it is so good that you will want more.
On our group task we had to make an online banner ad about shampoo which was targeted towards 13-15 year old teenage boys. We designed a poster to present to our class where we drew a car shaped shampoo bottle with the title "Fast Shampoo"and our slogan was "Fast shampoo, furious effect" which was sponsored by the Paul Walker Foundation and 50p was going to the charity every time someone bought it. We chose to do Fast & Furious because the movie mostly appeals to teenage boys as they like cars and action and also the movie is well known.

To improve we should of planned our presentation to make it clear what we are selling and why and we should of been more confident when presenting. Also we could of designed the shampoo bottle better with more colour and bolder writing which could appeal to teenage boys better and could made it stand out.
